The very first thing I did was cut a few 1cm strips, you could also use scraps. In fact this technique is great for scraps!
I then used my 6mm X-Press It Double Sided Tape and used what I call the “rip and stick” method.
I stuck the strips down to create a cross pattern, this would become the base for my photo.
I then pulled out the trusty Chromacryl, in white, and lightly covered the strips.
This makes the strips uniform but also allows the patterns to “quietly” show through.

I then lightly stamped over the papers and used some water colour paint to add part of my title.
Next step involved removing these chipboard leaves from the packaging, which I also used.
I pained the outside packaging frame black.
Please note that I used the plastic packaging as a protective sheet, keeping my desk clean from the paint.

I then added this to my page, using my trusty Clear Gel Glue.
Because my photo was going to be placed on top of this I used some High Tack Foam Tape to give the photo the height it needed.
The chipboard leaves I painted with some purple and some blue water colours.
The
last part was just adding the little details, like the gorgeous pearls
and a little metal filgree, that I cut in half so I could add it in two
places.
I love that you can see little pops of the pattern paper.
Subtle hints of the colours in behind the photo.

Love the texture of the FabScraps cardstock too!
Perfect for adding paint as it allows little dots of colour to show through.
Just gorgeous!
Happy creating.
